What a time it’s been. The “before times,” the “during times,” and the….. I don’t know what to call the time we’re in now! The “limbo times” perhaps.
I had quite a whirlwind experience getting Harmonic Dirt off the ground, with the massive group effort of Mike, Taylor, and James…..back in the late 20-teens. After we played our 110th show at Copper City Brewing Co in Rome NY on Thu 3/12/2020, we had 11 canceled gigs until our 111th show at Crazy Daisies in Camillus NY on 6/14/2020! That glorious, celebratory (outdoor) show felt like a lifetime in the making. A few more (fairly normal) shows went on…..until Covid reared its ugly head again, later that Fall.
We mourn the loss of the lives, dreams, and businesses that fell due to Covid. We spent quite some time “in limbo”…… wondering if live music could even survive!
Let’s raise a glass to live streaming! Not only did Harmonic Dirt take advantage of (and quite spectacularly fumbled through) countless live-streamed opportunities, we also enjoyed being on the receiving end of some fun “concerts” by local entertainers….. as well as some national acts!
Next time, I will discuss the various gigs we had an opportunity to do, once things got back to “normal!”
